Stephen studied Modern Languages and Law at the University of Cambridge, where he admits to having spent more time in the theatre than in the library...  Reflecting this, after leaving university he co-founded and toured the Oxford & Cambridge Shakespeare Company, before following his passion for music by setting up and running the European office of American concert management agency Shawconcerts.  After this, Stephen joined Harold Holt, later becoming joint-Managing Director, where he managed conductors such as Jansons, Temirkanov, Marriner, Gardiner, Bychkov and Ozawa.  In 1991, he left Harold Holt with his division, founding IMG Artists Europe as Managing Director.  Whilst at IMG Artists, he also set up the BBC Legends CD label and produced a number of television documentaries such as ‘Art of Conducting’, etc.  Stephen founded ICA in 2008, and in his spare time enjoys theatre, films, cricket and fine wines.

Ian graduated with a degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge and joined the concert agency world in 1988 as a junior member of the orchestral touring department of Harold Holt Ltd. Two years later, Ian moved as part of the group that formed IMG Artists’ new European enterprise in 1991, working with a wide range of orchestras and artists. In 1996 Ian moved to Kuala Lumpur having secured IMG Artists’ consultancy for the creation and establishment of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, helping build the joint organisation from scratch to its hugely successful inaugural three seasons. Since 2013, Ian has run his own event management and touring consultancy, working on a recently concluded consultancy with IMGA’s touring division as well as a number of other European clients developing new projects. Ian joins ICA to concentrate on a range of developments, including the areas of Orchestral Touring & Projects, and ICA's expanding role in Asia.

Jennifer Spencer

Upon graduating from the Royal College of Music, Jennifer joined the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra as a rank and file violinist.  Once her children started school, she took up a post with the concerts department of the London Symphony Orchestra and then moved into artist management  - first with the former Van Walsum Management and then at Harrison Parrott where she focussed particularly on developing the careers of young conductors.   During her time there, she worked for (amongst others) Christoph von Dohnanyi, Ivan Fischer, Paavo Jarvi, Kirill Karabits, Krzysztof Urbanski, Xian Zhang and Elim Chan.  In June 2016, after 20+ years, the latter half of which she served as a Director, Jennifer decided to seek new challenges as a consultant: current projects include the Budapest Festival Orchestra where she works on the artistic and touring planning alongside Ivan Fischer and Stefan Englert.

Sophie Attard

Sophie studied at the University of Bristol, obtaining a BA in Music and an MA in Music Performance, specialising in piano. Following her studies, she moved to London to pursue a career in artist management. She joins ICA following an artist administrator traineeship at Intermusica. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys exploring various musical genres, being outdoors, and visiting her family in Malta.

After achieving her Masters in Management of Artistic Organisations at the Paris-Dauphine University, Aurelie started working in the TV production industry on diverse cultural shows in France. She then joined Ideale Audience International where she collaborated on various projects, including the Classic Archive Series and the documentary film “La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet” by Frederick Wiseman. Aurelie enjoys playing the piano, horse riding in her native Berry and sailing around the Mediterranean Sea.

Born in Germany, Annette holds a diploma in classical and jazz saxophone from the University in Mainz, as well as an M.A. in musicology and German literature from the University in Frankfurt/Main. After a period of working as a music teacher and freelance saxophonist, she decided to develop her interest in opera and took up a position in the artistic planning office of Frankfurt Opera from 1999 to 2004. Relocating to the UK in 2004, she moved into the field of artist management and worked with a wide range of singers, instrumentalists and conductors, initially with Robert Gilder & Co, before taking up a position as Artist Manager with HarrisonParrott, where she developed a special interest in building the careers of young instrumentalists and conductors. She joined ICA in 2016 as a Senior Artist Manager. Annette is also an editor of the European Journal of Musicology and has published a book about Hans Werner Henze’s opera Der Prinz von Homburg.

Katerina Kanavaki

Katerina completed piano performance studies in Greece and in Germany at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, attaining a Master’s degree. She worked for some years as a professional musician and educator in her native city of Athens. However, wanting always to work in the management sector of classical music, she moved to London in 2012 where she completed an MA degree in Cultural Policy & Management (City University). Following various placements with IMG Artists, Royal Opera House, Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras and CLB Management among others, she joined ICA in 2015. She has remained a member of the Royal Opera House Volunteer Programme while she enjoys working with the few piano students she has kept. She is fluent in Greek, English and German and has a good knowledge of French.

Martin Kendrick

After several years running first an independent record shop then music magazine website, Martin worked in digital marketing and web development for a film casting company and several independent record labels before joining ICA in 2010. He managed the website, social media, digital marketing, IT and office operations as well as offline marketing as Communications and Operations Manager until early 2017. Martin then took up the role of Digital Media Consultant, working for ICA on a range of projects. He also founded and manages ICA Media, our in-house media production company.

For her undergraduate degree Alexandra read Music at the University of Oxford, staying on after this in order to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law.  Upon moving to London in 2012 she took her first job in artist management at Harrison/Parrott, before joining the ICA orchestral touring team at the end of 2013.  Alexandra now enjoys a tripartite job with the agency, combining artist management, orchestral touring, and work on projects with Stephen Wright.  A keen violinist, Alexandra also enjoys the opportunity to try out new languages when travelling; she speaks French and German, and has recently taken up the challenge of learning Russian.

After finishing school Jean-Max did a year of civil service working in the Intendanz at the State Theatre in Darmstadt/Germany, before embarking on his Vocal Studies at the Dresden College of Music. Upon graduating with a Diploma in Singing, Jean-Max moved to London for his Postgraduate Vocal Studies with Andrew Watts at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Before joining ICA he already gained experience in Artist Management during a student placement at IMG Artists London. Since 2010, he has also been working for the renowned Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival in Austria.

Having completed his studies in 2016, he joined ICA in early 2017. A keen French horn player as well, in his spare time Jean-Max enjoys performing music, cooking, travelling the world and learning more foreign languages.

Anna studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, specialising in violin.  Before joining ICA in 2014, Anna spent some time working in music management with several chamber groups, including the London International Players, and at the Highgate International Chamber Music Festival. Anna has always enjoyed playing violin and oboe in orchestras and chamber music groups and in her spare time loves walking, swimming, tennis and learning languages.

Claire joined ICA in August 2007 having completed her BMus at King’s College London with Violin studies at the Royal Academy of Music before gaining a Master’s degree in Conducting and Sound Recording from the University of Surrey. Outside of work, Claire stops her violin gathering dust by teaching a range of violin students and performing in a string quartet.

Having reading History at Cambridge University, John joined EMI in 1965 where he spent the next 31 years working in the UK, including almost a decade as Director of EMI Classics UK and an equivalent period abroad in Sweden, Holland and the US where he was Vice President Angel/EMI Classics before returning to the UK in 1988 to become Vice President of EMI Classics International.  In 1997, he joined IMG Artists as a consultant and set up with Stephen Wright, IMG Artist's Audio Visual Division, becoming it's Director, producing and distributing the BBC Legends label as well as working on many other projects including Classic Archive DVD with Ideale Audience and the Great Conductors of the 20th Century CD series distributed by EMI. After the acquisition of the AV Division by Medici Arts in 2007, he spent the next two years as Director, Medici Audio before joining ICA Limited in 2010.

Whilst obtaining his Honours degree in Marketing and a Post-graduate diploma in teaching, Johan also studied organ at the Conservatorium of the University of Potchefstroom, South Africa. After having taught music in a number of London schools, he worked in classical record sales before joining ICA in 2012. Johan has been a member of the London Philharmonic Choir and St. Paul’s Cathedral Chorus since his arrival in the UK in 2003. In addition to his interest in music, he also enjoys accumulating Air miles exploring the globe.  

Sally Rogers

Sally started her career in the music business 30 years ago at Van Walsum Management. In 1989 she began a long association with various orchestras starting with the Academy of Ancient Music, and then four years as concerts manager of the Philharmonia Orchestra, a year heading up the London Philharmonic’s concerts department before moving to Malaysia to take up the post of Administrator of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra when it was founded in 1998. After a short stint at the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Sally headed back to London and after some short contracts at Intermusica and Harrison/Parrott, joined IMG Artists in 2004. She worked closely with Ian Smallbone on the Canton International Summer Music Academy in China for three years, and on orchestral touring around the Asian region. From 2008 onwards, she has worked with the IMG Artists team on the Abu Dhabi Festival.

After studying piano, organ and musicology in her native Poland, Monika completed a post-graduate arts management diploma in London. Since 2000, she has worked with renowned conductors and orchestras at IMG Artists before joining ICA in 2009. With a strong interest in English medieval music, Monika also enjoys film, theatre and trekking in the mountains.

Britt studied Literary Studies at the University of Amsterdam, with a minor in Aesthetics (Philosophy). During this time she worked at The Concertgebouw for 5 years, fitting in perfectly with her love for classical music, having played piano from a young age. Upon graduating she moved to London to attend the MA Publishing programme at UCL, after which she worked in the marketing team for academic publisher Macmillan Education for nearly 3 years. However, her passion for classical music kept calling and resulted in moving to International Classical Artists to take up the role of Digital Communications Executive. In her spare time Britt is a keen reader, and enjoys playing the piano, ballet and ice skating.

Peter has just finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Bristol in French and Spanish. He has worked in radio and music journalism in the UK as well as in France and Spain, on top of writing and performing his own music.

Zara Alnaimi

Zara recently graduated with a joint honours degree in French and English Literature from the University of Reading. Passionate about music, she played the clarinet in the University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Band whilst running the Clarinet Choir in her second year. Prior to starting at ICA, Zara held positions at several cultural organisations including Shakespeare’s Globe, Wimbledon and the BBC, assisting the BBC Music Television team both at the Proms 2015 and BBC2’s All Together Now: The Great Orchestra Challenge in 2016. In her spare time, Zara enjoys literature and is an avid concert and theatre-goer.
