Having left Cambridge University where Stephen studied law and modern languages, he co-founded the Oxford and Cambridge Shakespeare Company. Stephen then set up and ran the European office of an American concert management agency, Shawconcerts Ltd, after which he joined Harold Holt Ltd, later becoming Managing Director. Among the artists he managed were Mariss Jansons, Neville Marriner, John Eliot Gardiner and Seiji Ozawa. Stephen left Harold Holt with his division to set up IMG Artists Europe in 1991 where he became MD with responsibility for developing the business internationally. Stephen also established an audiovisual department at IMG Artists, setting up the BBC Legends CD label and producing a number of television and DVD programmes.

Ian Smallbone graduated with a degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge and joined the concert agency world in 1988 as a junior member of the orchestral touring department of Harold Holt Ltd. Two years later, Ian moved as part of the group that formed IMG Artists’ new European enterprise in 1991, working with a wide range of orchestras and artists. In 1996 Ian moved to Kuala Lumpur having secured IMG Artists’ consultancy for the creation and establishment of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, helping build the joint organisation from scratch to its hugely successful inaugural three seasons. Since 2013, Ian has run his own event management and touring consultancy, working on a recently concluded consultancy with IMGA’s touring division as well as a number of other European clients developing new projects. Ian joins ICA to concentrate on a range of developments, including the areas of Orchestral Touring & Projects, and ICA's expanding role in Asia.

Peter has had a long and distinguished career in Arts Management. He was formerly Director of Finance and Projects at Askonas Holt, and Finance Director at the Southbank Centre. More recently he lived for 5 years in France, working as a professional lutenist. Since his return to the UK he has resumed his arts management career, working at the Barbican Centre as Head of Finance. Peter is a music graduate from Churchill College, Cambridge, and a chartered accountant.

After achieving her Masters in Management of Artistic Organisations at the Paris-Dauphine University, Aurelie started working in the TV production industry on diverse cultural shows in France. She then joined Ideale Audience International where she collaborated on various projects, including the Classic Archive Series and the documentary film “La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet” by Frederick Wiseman. Aurelie enjoys playing the piano, horse riding in her native Berry and sailing around the Mediterranean Sea.

Rosie read music at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2009. After working with Aldeburgh Festival and Academy of Ancient Music, Rosie moved to London and worked with Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Rosie is a violinist and pianist and loves baking and cooking in her small but perfectly formed kitchen. She speaks conversational French and German and joined the ICA Artist Management team in 2014.

Johanna managed world-wide orchestral tours at IMG Artists for 15 years. Previously Administrator of the European Community Youth Orchestra, she moved into freelance arts and tour management for, among others, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra New York and the inaugural tours of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. A longstanding interest in photography led to an Art History Degree, an MA in Photographic Collections and several academic research projects. Next to her ICA work, Johanna runs her own picture framing business Framing Star.

Katerina completed piano performance studies in Greece and in Germany at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, attaining a Master’s degree. She worked for some years as a professional musician and educator in her native city of Athens. However, wanting always to work in the management sector of classical music, she moved to London in 2012 where she completed an MA degree in Cultural Policy & Management (City University). Following various placements with IMG Artists, Royal Opera House, Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras and CLB Management among others, she joined ICA in 2015. She has remained a member of the Royal Opera House Volunteer Programme while she enjoys working with the few piano students she has kept. She is fluent in Greek, English and German and has a good knowledge of French.

After several years running first an independent record shop then music magazine website, Martin worked in digital marketing and web development for a film casting company and several independent record labels before joining ICA in 2010. He manages the website, social media, digital marketing, IT and office operations as well as all offline marketing, including production of the 'Cultural Companion' company brochure. Martin also founded and manages ICA Films, our in-house video production company.

Alexandra read Music at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2011 and staying on in ‘the city of dreaming spires’ in order to complete a post-graduate Diploma in Law. Upon moving to London in 2012, she worked at Harrison Parrott and Music Inter Alia before joining the ICA Projects & Tours team in 2013. Alexandra is a violinist, and also enjoys the opportunity to try out new languages when on tour – she speaks French and German, and has recently taken up the challenge of learning Russian.

Elena trained as a classical pianist. In 2007 Elena received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Policy, Economics and Sociology from the Erasmus Universiteit in Rotterdam. Following her graduation, Elena pursued a career in Artist Management. She first joined IMG Artists London, where she was an assistant to Kathryn Enticott. In 2009 Elena joined Victoria Rowsell as an Associate with the aim of identifying and nurturing emerging artists. She joined ICA in 2015 as Artist and Projects Manager. Elena is fluent in Serbo-Croatian, Macedonian and Dutch; she has advanced knowledge of the German language and an intermediate knowledge of Portuguese and Russian.

Anna studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, specialising in violin. Before joining ICA in 2014, Anna spent some time working in music management with several chamber groups, including the London International Players, and at the Highgate International Chamber Music Festival. Anna has always enjoyed playing violin and oboe in orchestras and chamber music groups and in her spare time loves walking, swimming, tennis and learning languages.

Janet performed in a rock band in Liverpool before studying viola with Nannie Jamieson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Following post-graduate study in arts management she worked in the marketing department of the London Philharmonic and for Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s period ensembles. She joined ICA in 1997.

Claire joined ICA in August 2007 having completed her BMus at King’s College London with Violin studies at the Royal Academy of Music before gaining a Master’s degree in Conducting and Sound Recording from the University of Surrey. Outside of work, Claire stops her violin gathering dust by teaching a range of violin students and performing in a string quartet.

Having reading History at Cambridge University, John joined EMI in 1965 where he spent the next 31 years working in the UK, including almost a decade as Director of EMI Classics UK and an equivalent period abroad in Sweden, Holland and the US where he was Vice President Angel/EMI Classics before returning to the UK in 1988 to become Vice President of EMI Classics International. In 1997, he joined IMG Artists as a consultant and set up with Stephen Wright, IMG Artist's Audio Visual Division, becoming it's Director, producing and distributing the BBC Legends label as well as working on many other projects including Classic Archive DVD with Ideale Audience and the Great Conductors of the 20th Century CD series distributed by EMI. After the acquisition of the AV Division by Medici Arts in 2007, he spent the next two years as Director, Medici Audio before joining ICA Limited in 2010.

Whilst obtaining his Honours degree in Marketing and a Post-graduate diploma in teaching, Johan also studied organ at the Conservatorium of the University of Potchefstroom, South Africa. After having taught music in a number of London schools, he worked in classical record sales before joining ICA in 2012. Johan has been a member of the London Philharmonic Choir and St. Paul’s Cathedral Chorus since his arrival in the UK in 2003. In addition to his interest in music, he also enjoys accumulating Air miles exploring the globe.

After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in French and German, Mary worked as a freelance tour manager, spent several months in the USA devising European cultural tours, and worked in artists’ servicing at Harrison Parrott. She moved to the orchestral tours department at IMG Artists in 1993, and over the following 21 years took care of touring logistics for a huge range of orchestras and ensembles worldwide, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Mariinsky Theatre, Polish National Opera, Dresden Philharmonic and Mahler Chamber Orchestra. She sings with the Elysian Singers and plays clarinet in a variety of ensembles. A keen preserve-maker, she was commissioned to write a book on the subject, and Notes from the Jam Cupboard was published in 2012. She joined ICA in January 2015.

Having read Music at Bristol University, followed by a Masters degree in Marketing, Louise began working for Stephen Wright at IMG Artists in 2002. She moved with Stephen to his new consultancy company, where she worked on Kenneth Branagh’s film of Mozart’s Magic Flute amongst other audiovisual projects. Louise joined ICA in 2008. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, baking and travelling, particularly in France and Italy.

After studying piano, organ and musicology in her native Poland, Monika completed a post-graduate arts management diploma in London. Since 2000, she has worked with renowned conductors and orchestras at IMG Artists before joining ICA in 2009. With a strong interest in English medieval music, Monika also enjoys film, theatre and trekking in the mountains.
