Laurent Pelly’s La Vie Parisienne returns to Opéra de Lyon
13 Dec 2011
Laurent Pelly’s effervescent and iconic staging of Offenbach’s witty take on France and Parisians - La Vie Parisienne - recently returned to Opéra de Lyon to rave reviews and a sell out run. With set designs by Chantal Thomas, dialogues by Agathe Mélinand and conductor Gérard Korsten in the pit, the cast was led by Laurent Naouri, Jean-Sébastien Bou, Blandine Staskiewicz and Boris Grappe .
This month also sees the revival of Laurent Pelly’s exquisite and enchanting staging of Massenet’s Cendrillon, at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. Conducted by Alain Altinoglu and with sets by Barbara de Limburg, this fairytale is captivating audiences in Brussels, just as it did earlier this year at Covent Garden.
To complete the hat-trick, Laurent’s celebrated production of La Fille du Régiment is also showing at the Metropolitan Opera New York throughout the Christmas period. And you can also catch it again next spring, when it returns to Covent Garden.
