For the first time ever, The Royal Opera presents the story of Cinderella as told in Massenet’s opera.  Laurent Pelly opens his production, for which he has also designed the costumes, on 5 July and performances run through to 16 July.  Joyce DiDonato takes the title role and ICA’s Barbara de Limburg is set designer.  Alice Coote  plays DiDonato’s Prince Charming and Bertrand de Billy conducts the Royal Opera House orchestra.  The performance on 13 July will be streamed live to BP Big Screens around the country, and will be released into cinemas later this year.
